Not at all! This class is designed for complete beginners. Our friendly and patient artists are wonderful teachers and will guide you through every single step of the process.

What size will the Batik piece be?

You will work on a standard-sized piece of fabric, perfect for creating a beautiful wall hanging, a decorative element for a cushion, or a centerpiece for a larger project.

Is this class suitable for children?

Yes, creative children aged 10 and up often love this class! It’s a great way for them to engage with culture and art. We ask that they have good focus for the detailed work involved.

What is the difference between this and regular painting?

Batik is a unique "wax-resist dyeing" technique. Instead of just applying paint, you use hot wax to draw a design that "resists" the dye. This creates the distinctive lines and layered colors that make Batik so special.
